A terribly messy sketch done in ten minutes, but I am overall decently pleased with how it turned out regardless. It occurred to me a long time ago that while I've drawn Guen's kids, I've never actually drawn her with any of her kids. Shame on me. What is more, this is an idea I've had in my head for a Mother's Day piece since 2013, but have never actually drawn. It's about high time I did so.
I really need to explore and work more on showcasing Guen's relationships with her kids individually, but the one that I'm really partial to is her relationship with Daedulus. It has less to do with the fact that Deedee is her first kid, and moreso the fact that while he is "the product of non-consensual, forced carnal interaction" [to use Daedulus's own words as shown in here: Batman: Legacy-Bound Teaser] it doesn't change that Guen loves her son deeply and doesn't hold the sins of his father against him. Deedee himself of course, is fiercely loyal to his mother (a trait he definitely inherited from her Wraith personality) and is quite devoted to her throughout the course of his life. (A fact that will really be brought into light when I get to working in full on Legacy-Bound.)
And even just giving you guys that little snippet isn't enough to really do the relationship justice. Again and as before stated, I'm going to really need to do more things to showcase to you guys their relationship. ESPECIALLY since after some character-exploration discussion with the-dragon-childe a while back led me to the realization that Daedulus takes ballet lessons with Felicia Cobblepot when the two of them are younger, and Guen actually fully supports Deedee's desire to get into ballet, however "girly" it seems. She's also quite ready to get in a fight with anyone who tries to give her son crap for taking up ballet.
